The Challenge – Due to the announcement that Adobe would no longer be supporting the Flash player plug-in from 2020, there was a need to convert eleven 60-minute eLearning modules to HTML5.
The Solution – Flash based eLearning modules developed 10-years ago existed along with the initial storyboards that were used to design them. As demand for these modules had increased in recent years, there was a need to redevelop the modules in HTML5. Back in 2017, Adobe announced that from 2020, they would be no longer be supporting the Flash player plug in, meaning in order for users to access the course, they would need to be re-development. At the same time, the eLearning content and ‘look and feel’ of the modules had become dated.
Newleaf worked closely with the organizations subject matter experts to revise the eLearning content, re-develop existing storyboards and re-produce content in HTML5. All 11 modules were fully responsive, 508 compliant using professional voice over and closed captions, were developed using updated brand guidelines and included customized characters, navigation bar, and animations. In addition engaging scenarios were developed and course branching was included to ensure a truly personalized learning experience.
